Big Autumn Preview 2026 – New Menoth army unveiled
Faithful Menites, it’s time to embrace salvation and pledge yourselves to the Lawgiver.
Just unveiled in all their glory in the big Autumn Preview stream, Protectorate of Menoth are finally returning to the Iron Kingdoms with a fiery new Prime army: Covenant of the Flame.
If you’ve been looking for a sign from on high to get back into Warmachine, this is it.
The preview covered a huge amount of reveals for Protectorate and Cryx Dread Armada, from box contents to rules and playstyle, so we’d seriously encourage you to give it a watch. Otherwise, we’ll cover the key bits below (plus we’ll have more spotlight articles from the design team in the coming weeks).
Premiered during the stream, this 12-minute army overview video gives you all the major details on who the Protectorate of Menoth are, why they’re so important to the Iron Kingdoms, how the Covenant of the Flame army fits in, and of course, what interesting new battle tactics they’ll be using to enact Menoth’s will.
To kick-start your personal journey to salvation, we unveiled the rules for a 100-point Covenant of the Flame army list (including the full Command Set and both warjacks), Flames of the Righteous, and pre-loaded the list in the Warmachine app.
The relevant models are already live on the digital tabletop Warmachine simulator, Wartable, so you can start practicing enacting Menoth’s will right now.
Also unveiled during the stream were all six boxed sets for Covenant of the Flame, plus an army pre-order bundle that comes with an exclusive set of Classic Edition Four Gifts cards (more details below!).
Led by trailblazing Feora, the Defenders of the Flame Command Set is made for command-level (i.e. 30 point) games. Feora is a herald of a new era for her people, rooted in the purity of the past.
Her fires guide the hands of the faithful and imbue them with strength to smite their enemies, immolating the unbeliever and burning away the impure. Menoth’s first Gift was the Flame, and no one embodies that better than the Marshal of the Flameguard.
Discover Defenders of the Flame
One of the most stable light warjack platforms in the old Protectorate of Menoth, the Revenger endures as a common companion of Menite warcasters.
Where once its primary use was as an arc node to amplify arcane magic, since the Protectorate’s resurrection the warjack chassis has proven much more versatile.
The workhorse of the Protectorate of old, the Crusader is the oldest warjack chassis still in active duty, spanning over a century of service in the name of the Lawgiver.
Durable and reliable, it’s the most commonly-fielded warjack in the Covenant’s armies, effective in melee and at range.
Sanctified and blessed these long years, now the Protectorate’s crusade begins anew, each Crusader’s venerable cortex is as devoted to the destruction of the enemies of Menoth as any of the faithful.
Menoth army lists are generally warjack heavy, so having a few of these faithful machines will stand you in good stead for the battles to come. You’ll find at least one fixed loadout warjack included in each Covenant of the Flame army box, some of which are characters in their own right.
Speaking of which, during the stream we revealed all three Covenant army boxes, each led by a powerful warcaster with their own unique way of harnessing flame.
Each Covenant army box includes a complete force playable in command and skirmish-level Warmachine games (circa 30-50 points) and can be combined, mixed, and matched to customise and grow your army lists.

The Four Gifts represent a core mechanic for Covenant of the Flame, whereby Menoth bestows four gifts on his devoted followers to aid them in battle: Wall, Sheaf, Fire, and Law.
Digitally represented in the app for functional gameplay, the printed cards are an exclusive collectable set that are also usable in games to physically represent the gifts in play.
