The styrge hounds that stalk the depths of the Fane of Nyrro are dangerous enough in their own right, but age transforms these creatures into something far more terrifying. As they grow, they abandon their packs and claim vast stretches of the underground catacombs as their territory, becoming territorial abhorreths that prey upon any intruder to their domain.

Once fully grown in captivity, each abhorreth is paired with a dedicated rider drawn from the ranks of the Fane Knights. These mage riders may lack the raw power of the Fane’s other warlocks, but their bond with the styrge allows them to channel its fury into fell magic, unleashing its rage upon the enemy while turning aside missiles aimed at their allies. Together, rider and warbeast form a formidable partnership, bringing the savage power of the abhorreth under the command of the Fane.
