Super heavy rules preview – Dozer & Smigg
Trollkin lovers, the day has finally dawned.
Siege-breaking duo Dozer and Smigg are BACK to help their favourite leader, General Gunnbjorn, and his newfound friends devastate the field of battle. Together, they form Kithguard’s new 80mm super heavy warbeast!

Available to pre-order from today, this pair of pals pull no punches. Let’s delve directly into their rules, shall we?
Dozer and Smigg get most of their work done on the table using the massive Howitzer mounted on Dozer's back. Sporting a respectable range of 14”, this model’s perfect for shelling the enemy out of defensible positions, especially when combined with his shot types.

Pesky stealth models trying to sneak up? Pyg Spotters grants you eyeless sight.
Trying to hide behind a building? Indirect Fire allows you to ignore line of sight for the attack.
Bunkered down in a trench? High-Angle Fire lets you ignore the cover bonus to bust their bunker.

Dozer and Smigg also bring a brand new playstyle to the Southern Kriels Kithguard army. You see, this super heavy is designed to make plenty of out-of-activation shots. But how do we get to call in those bombardments? Using their Creeping Barrage rule!
This works by letting you force Dozer and Smigg to make a ranged attack at an in-range target that’s within 4” of a trap door marker anytime a marker is removed from the table.
This makes Tunnel Rats and Medic units Dozer and Smigg's best friends, letting you remove fury from Dozer and Smigg before using your other models to utilize and move trap doors to get the most out of Dozer.
But the fun doesn’t stop there:
All warbeasts get an animus, and this super heavy pair are no exception — Dozer and Smigg bring Opening Fire. With it, they can make an extra shot themselves, and hand it to your warlock to dish out to any model in their battlegroup.

Thanks to the Smigg rule, Smigg can also use his command over Dozer to make Dozer boost attack and damage rolls outside of their activation.
When we said, “call in those bombardments”, we really meant it.
To cool off after the onslaught, Smigg lets you manage that fury in your next control phase by removing d3 fury points. Handy!

Wondering where Dozer and Smigg might fit in your Kithguard army? Here are some ideas.
Naturally, Dozer and Smigg feel right at home with General Gunnbjorn, sporting lots of tools to boost Dozer's effectiveness.

For starters, there’s Rune Mark to automatically boost all Dozer’s shots within 2” of the trap door. This makes it tricky for opponents to engage Dozer and Smigg.
On top of that, Rock Wall makes it hard to get models into position to attack.
And let’s not forget about Gunnbjorn’s feat, which makes Dozer’s already respectable statline a mighty hurdle to overcome.

We also like Dozer and Smigg with Fell Captain Mailis Wroughtmourn. Like Gunnbjorn, Wroughtmorn has some great spells for Dozer and Smigg to take advantage of.

Use Descending Gloom to blind key targets, making them easier to hit. Cast Hand of Destruction to improve hitting and damage. And use Eye of Dhunia to grant Blessed and ignore enemy spells.
Of course, we can’t forget Wroughtmourn's ability to channel these spells through trap doors, which then removes them, allowing you to trigger a shot from Dozer. Top-tier synergy.
Last but not least, we have Wroughtmourn's feat, Rolling Mist, to lower line of sight to 8”, buy Dozer and Smigg a turn safe from enemy retaliation, and give you an extra turn to lay down fire on the enemy.
