Summerween army cocktail – Fane of Nyrro: Bourne of Whispers

Our summer of eldritch has only just begun, yet there are already so many army list possibilities. We grabbed Fraser from the Warmachine dev team to mix up a quick Fane list for you to try out. Cheers!

Army list – Bourne of Whispers

Leave your opponent shaken, not stirred

• Subjugated Conditioning

• Lanyssa, Sasha, and Benkei (Final Hunt Command Cadre)

• Strygon Rider (Executioner’s Toll)

• Blood Sirens & Sythyss Overseer (Death’s Whisper)

• Fane Knights (Executioner’s Toll)

• Fane Stalkers (Death’s Whisper)

• The Klyvenesh (Death’s Whisper)

• The Last Watch (Final Hunt Command Cadre)

The premise here is simple: repeatedly deliver a small number of hard-hitting models, multiple times, all while using movement control effects to put enemy models in vulnerable positions and push others out of retaliation range.

You’ll start with Mirage on Sybaris, then hit important enemy units with Pursuit. This combination is perfect for getting Sybaris into position to connect with key targets and drag them places they’d very much prefer not to be.

If needed, your Blood Sirens can also apply their Unholy Glamour, dragging enemies even deeper into your lines.

Next, you'll probably want to get Admonition onto Sybaris. Combine that with the ranged defences provided by Misdirect and Ancient Shrouded Blood Sirens, and a backup Shadow Shift, and Sybaris can slip away to avoid retaliation.

This is where you’ll get the most out of The Klyvenesh, Strygon Rider and Final Hunt; elite models with potent damage output.

All the above adds up to a very enjoyable package when the plays come off. It’ll take time, but you’ll chip away and have a great time doing it.

In the meantime, it’s important not to get overwhelmed by the rest of your opponent’s army, or fall too far behind on scenario. This is where the Stalkers and Sirens step up, buying you time with their natural resilience and ability to move enemy models around the field.
